A few new cases of COVID-19 reported in Grey-Bruce

GREY-BRUCE – There are now seven active cases of COVID-19 in Grey-Bruce, with one person hospitalized.

As of Tuesday morning, Grey Bruce Public Health reported one new case in the previous 24 hours, bringing the cumulative total to 155 cases, 31 of them in health-care workers. As of Tuesday, there were no outbreaks reported in long-term care homes, schools or daycares. The recent cases reported were in Owen Sound and Georgian Bluffs.

A provincial order is in place mandating the wearing of face coverings in all public indoor settings including businesses, facilities and workplaces, with limited exemptions.

Modified stage two restrictions are in place, effective Oct. 10, for Toronto, Peel and Ottawa. Restrictions include a limit of 10 people for indoor gatherings and 25 for outdoor events. Indoor food and drink service in restaurants, clubs, bars and food court areas of malls is prohibited. The restrictions include the closing of indoor gyms, casinos, performing arts centres, galleries, exhibits and landmarks. Real estate open houses are limited to 10 people indoors where distancing can be maintained. Sports teams will be limited to training sessions, with no games or scrimmages in the three areas where the new restrictions are in effect.
