Arts funds supporting Canadian creators during COVID-19 where possible

Five grant programs have been put on hiatus until further notice because of the scope or travel requirements involved that would go against COVID-19 restrictions: the grants for feature film production, live performing arts production, market travel, tour support, and web series.

As Lederhouse puts it, the grant for television production was left open while the similar film production program was put on hiatus because of the popularity of the program and the ability of certain producers to work remotely.

“Our Television Production Grant makes several TV series possible each year, and triggered about four million dollars of spending in Saskatchewan last year alone,” he said. “Lifestyle and animated television projects, commonly produced in Saskatchewan using this grant, do remain possible while respecting COVID-19 restrictions.”
