Leave Those Kids Alone gears up for Canada Day

Local youth band Leave Those Kids Alone has been performing on neighbourhood driveways in recent weeks, as a lead-up to its online rendition of O Canada on Canada Day.

The video performance, broadcast at noon and 7 p.m., is part of a virtual Canada Day celebration to replace all the regular outdoor events that have been sidelined by the COVID-19 pandemic. The music will be paired with video memories from previous Windsor Summer Fest and Canada Day parade events and can be watched on Cogeco’s YourTV, and the Windsor Parade Corp. and Windsor Summer Fest Facebook pages.

The band is comprised of Timothy Hole, 16, Alex Bonadonna, 13, Addisyn Bonadonna, 10, and John Dorman, 14.

The driveway performances are part of Leave Those Kids Alone’s Neighbourhood Summer Concert Series, staged to replace the many gigs cancelled due to the pandemic.
