Due to high demand, the Windsor Regional Hospital’s COVID-19 Assessment Centre is extending its hours of operations beginning Wednesday.
The weekday hours at the testing centre, located next to the Emergency Department at WRH’s Ouellette campus, are now 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Weekend hours (Saturday and Sunday) remain unchanged at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The change was necessitated after a record 237 people showed up for a test Tuesday. That’s nearly four times the daily average from the previous week after Premier Doug Ford announced Sunday anyone could request the swab test.
Additional tents have been put in place at the Ouellette campus so those waiting in line won’t be in direct sunlight and water is available during this week’s humid weather. Parking is also free.
As has always been the case in Windsor, you don’t need a referral from Telehealth Ontario, primary care or the Health Unit in order to be tested.
